The short version: Patchy itself collects nothing, and your photos never leave your phone unless you export them yourself. The one thing in the app that goes online is the optional watch-an-ad Rush Development button, served by Google.
Patchy is a single-use film camera app published by 19 Ton. You shoot a roll of 24 photos, wait while it develops, and get your photos back with a film look applied. Everything happens on your device.
None. Patchy has no user accounts, no analytics, and no cloud services. We (19 Ton) never see your photos, your name, your location, or anything else about you. The app uses the internet for exactly one thing — the optional Rush Development ad, described next.
While a roll is developing, Patchy checks with Google whether a rewarded ad is available, and if so shows a RUSH DEVELOPMENT button. Watch the ad to the end and your roll develops right away instead of in 12 hours. Watching is always optional — ignore the button and the wait works exactly as before.
Ads are served by Google's AdMob. To deliver and measure them, Google may collect data such as your device's advertising ID, IP address, and how you interact with the ad. Patchy shares nothing else with Google — your photos and everything else in the app stay out of it. If you are in a region that requires it (such as the EEA or UK), the app asks for your consent before any ad can load, and you can decline. How Google handles this data: Google's advertising privacy notes and Google's privacy policy.
Photos taken with Patchy are saved to the app's private storage on your phone. They stay there until you delete them (or the roll they belong to), and they only appear in your phone's gallery or leave the device if you use the app's own Save or Share buttons.
Patchy is not directed at children. The app itself collects no data from anyone, children included; ads are handled by Google under the consent rules described above.
Everything Patchy itself stores lives on your phone: delete a roll inside the app, or uninstall Patchy to remove everything it ever stored. Your device's advertising ID (used by Google for ads) can be reset or deleted in Android's settings, under Privacy → Ads.
If a future version of Patchy changes any of the above, this page will be updated before that version ships, and the change will be called out in the app's update notes. That is exactly what happened with version 1.1, which added the optional Rush Development ad.
